Sons Of The Forest – How To Get The Rope Gun

There are certain items that are absolutely crucial to your survival in Sons of the Forest. From a basic shelter to food and water, players’ first few hours on the island in the new survival-horror game will be all about trying to find these items so they can stay alive. One of these tools is the Rope Gun, which allows players to access ziplines, which are required for several caves scattered around the island. If you’re struggling to find the Rope Gun, don’t worry, as you’re certainly not alone. In this guide, we’ll be going over all of the steps required to acquire the Rope Gun in Sons of the Forest.

Sons of the Forest Rope Gun location

Unfortunately, the location of the Rope Gun is not an easy place to reach. First, players will need to make their way to the western side of the map, right in between the ocean and the snowy mountain range Come from Sports betting site VPbet. There, players will find a cave that leads them down a winding trek which will result in them finding the Rope Gun. You can see exactly where the cave is located on the map in the GPS screenshot below.

Once you’re near this location on the map, you will see a green blip appear on your map. Head toward the green blip until you find a large boulder with three humans resting on spikes in front of it. This is the entrance to the cave. All you need to do is head into the entrance, press “E” to enter, and then bring out whatever light source you have on hand. We recommend a flashlight, but a torch works just as well.

Inside the cave, keep heading straight until you find a wide open space. From the opening of this area, head left, hugging the wall as much as possible. You will eventually reach another opening, which leads into another corridor for you to follow. Keep going straight again until you see a large, gray creature embedded into the wall. In order to clear a path through this creature, pick up the Time Bombs that are on the ground next to the dead body. Throw the bombs at the creature and it will blow up, creating space for you to walk through.

This leads to another open area, where you can find a dead human on the ground with some useful supplies next to them and a letter titled “More Lighting.” Collect the letter, and then head straight past the dead body for quite some time. Don’t worry about how long it’s taking, as long as you went straight to where the dead body and letter were, you’re headed in the correct direction.

Eventually, after passing through a space with dead, hanging corpses, you will come across a slope on the left. Climb up the slope and then go to the left path again. When you get through this small path, you will see some yellow rocks on the walls. When you see these rocks for the first time, go directly left and you will see another path that has more of these rocks.

Go straight after passing the yellow rocks and you will eventually reach another slope that you have to go up. After going up the slope, you’ll be in a small area that has more of the yellow rocks. Keep to the left, and you will have to crouch down to get through a small opening in the wall. After you get through the crouching part, go to the right path past the stalagmites in the middle of the path. You’ll now be in an area that has water in it. Stay to the right of this water area, but you will eventually come to a larger area near the middle. Head up this path, which leads you out of the room with water.

Once you reach the end of the path, you will find a crate sitting on the ground, which contains the Rope Gun. Pick the Rope Gun up, and your character will equip it. This is important, as you need to use the Rope Gun to zipline down to the cave’s exit. Use the Rope Gun by going past the crate on the ground and then pressing “E” when prompted.

Once you’re on the ground, follow the path and you will get out of the cave. Now that you have the Rope Gun, you can either progress and acquire the shovel or gather some of the other tools you need, such as the Rebreather. For more on the new survival game, check out our Sons of the Forest tips.
